Embracing a unique musical narrative, "The Truth" delicately intertwines vocals with a mesmerizing echo of a guitar in transitions, creating a harmonious dance between voice and instrument. The song's progression begins with a gentle, soft introduction, gradually building into a larger band sound while maintaining its laid-back vibes throughout.

At its core, "The Truth" explores the theme of the 'burden of truth,’ — a lyrical journey that delves into the dichotomy of ignorance being bliss while simultaneously embracing the challenges of confronting and accepting the truth. The song serves as a poignant soundtrack for introspection, resonating with those seeking solace in the midst of life's complexities.

“I found a photo booth picture of me from many years before and realized it was like looking at a 4-panel comic strip of my 20s. I'd just come off of tour with Andy Falco, Andrew Altman, and David Butler and they'd wanted me to write something to record with them. I got hit with a bolt of lightning when I saw the photo booth pictures and wrote it very quickly,” says Kevin Kendrick. “Andy Falco, being a grammy-award winning bluegrass player, really wanted to track live with no click track so everything but the vocals and acoustic guitar was live! That is NOT my typical way to work but I think it came out great.”

Called "The hippest pop band you've ever heard in your life" by Village Voice music critic Richard Gehr, A Big Yes and a small no's debut Jesus That Looks Terrible On You (2008) was called "beautiful...recalls Ben Folds' earlier, more adventurous works" (Relix) and picked by Popsyndicate as of one of 2008's 10 best records.
